Frances, age 4,
with her brother, Isaac Cuthbert Evans, III, age 6
This photograph was taken in Seale, Alabama, on the front porch of home of the children's paternal grandparents. Frances recalled the day the photograph was taken saying, "The scowl on my face is not because I was made to wear that ridiculously huge bow, it was because I had to put down the book I was reading to have my picture taken."
Frances, age 16
This was Frances' high school senior photograph. Frances had skipped a grade in school, and her brother had been held back a grade, so the two of them graduated in the same class. At the time of this photograph, Frances was an accomplished pianist and violinist. She was the bookkeeper for her physician father.
Frances Evans, 1932
In 1932, Frances had received her master's degree and returned to Columbus, Georgia to teach at the Columbus High School.
